Development and Grants Coordinator Position Description

The Development and Grants Coordinator creates and oversees the implementation of a strategic approach to fundraising which includes major gifts, sponsorship, corporate donations, grant solicitation, membership and in-kind resources. The Development and Grants Coordinator reports to the Executive Director.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Executive Director to create a fund development plan which increases revenues to support the strategic direction of the organization
  • Implement the fund development plans in accordance with ethical fundraising principles
  • Monitor and evaluate all fundraising activities to ensure that the fundraising goals are being achieved
  • Assist Executive Director with the preparation and submission of grant applications as outlined in the fund development plan to generate funds for the organization
  • Oversee the planning and execution of special fundraising
  • Identify and develop corporate, community and individual prospects for the organization’s fundraising priorities
  • Oversee the administration of the organization’s membership list and database
  • Coordinate in-kind donations and make decisions regarding the issuing of receipts
  • Oversee the dad to day operations related to the WorkAlli Coworking space
  • Engage volunteers for special events and projects using established volunteer management practices
  • Foster an understanding of philanthropy within the organization
  • Build relationships with community stakeholders to advance the mission and fundraising goals of the organization

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of fundraising experience
  • Experience with creative and technical writing
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends
  • Excellent communication skills, including writing, proof reading skills, and speaking
  • Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team based environment
  • Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
  • Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills both in person and by phone, with high professionalism

Pay: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour
